Sonia had to choose between a smile and a frown...
The smile in all its golden glory, slightly appealed to her, but it didn't appeal to her as much as the frown repulsed her. She became aware that she really disliked the frown, infact it enraged her, but it never occurred to her, that she could seek out the smile to be free of it. The smile was okay, but it wasn't enough to attract her.
Instead she vowed to wage war on the frown, she wanted to tear it to pieces - spit, scream, and stomp on it. She cursed it day and night. She felt compelled to destroy it, to blight it out of all existence, but of course she did not have the power to do so.
Instead of choosing the smile, which would of been the easiest way to be free of the frown, she chose to hate the frown, and become its enemy... only, she did not realise that the only way to truly defeat the frown, was to choose the smile...perhaps if she did, things would of turned out differently.
As it is, Sonia stayed locked in a pointless battle, and every little moment she was worn more and more away... she was blind to the source of the frown, and so continued to chase it's shadow, the shadow was her shadow - for she was the frown's instrument, and she would continue to be until she could choose the smile.
For trying to fight a frown, without a smile, turns one into a frown...
